Sotomayor

al franken's first official act as senator was to question sotomayor about an old perry mason episode. at this point i would make fun of the people of minnesota who elected the imbecile. but i'm still not convinced he actually won the election.

and i'm waiting for someone to put a spin on ginsburg's recent comments on abortion that doesn't make her sound like a creepy eugenicist.

Hmmm - I can't decide if Ruth Buzzi Ginsberg reminds me of Frau Blucher from "Young Frankenstein" or Rosa Klebs from "From Russia with Love". She gets creepier every day, like the new senator from Minnesota. And what's with Senora Sotomayor? When a Republican has questioned her about her past statements (like her infamous "Wise Latina Woman" comment), she pulls a "Did I Say That?" moment and dances around it ("Well, if I did say that, what I really meant was...")

I thought that all any liberal appointee had to say was that they saw every Perry Mason episode and that was good enough for immediate confirmation.

I'm reminded of when CA Rep Ellen Tauscher was questioned about "abuse" of prisoners in Iraq, she said, "I don't know the answer, but I watch enough 'Law and Order' to know that what's happening isn't right."  The best comment was "I've seen Top Gun 10 times. So when is the Navy going to let me fly an F-14?"

Living proof that most politicians would not be able to function in the real world.

One theory is that the Marxist Jew will usually beat a non-Marxist jew for a senate seat in Minnesota, as with Paul Wellstone versus Rudy Boschwitz. The other thing to keep in mind is that if it weren't for the lawyers Franken would still be out on his ass.

BTW: I've benn experimenting with Alternate History fiction. The subject of Franken sort of came up in the process. So to speak...

What I would like to know is how did the Republican party get stuck with being racist when it what the Democrates who tried to prevent the passage of the civil rights act of the 60'xs.  Senator (KKK) Byrd filibustered the Voting Rights act, Governor Wallace was a Democrat,  and other southern Demcrats where fighting tooth and nail to precent any civil right laws to be passed.  This has all been forgotten.

The one thng I see happening is the Democraps are destorying themselves, I just hope they don't take the rest of us down with them.  People are at last seeing what clowns like head Bitch of the House Pelosi,  Biden the Boob, Rep Barney, can't speak the truth out of my ass, Frank, Senatoir, All lies, Dod.  Of  course we have That which is most Holy, The God Emperor Obama,   Along with his 600 Dollar tennis shoe, 1000 dollar pursh,  Queen, we finally got a piece of the pie, Michelle,  have already been out of the country 45 days. is this because they feel living in Washington DC in the White House ( I wonder if they think the name is reacist) is slumming. is he brown nosing, or is it because the shopping is so much better in Europe.

So watching "Perry Mason" is a qualification?  What's wrong with reading _Wolff and Byrd: Counselors of the Macabre?_  At least Batton Lash has real live lawyers advising him on the legal issues in his comic; I don't know that any real lawyers were involved with "Perry Mason."

And does this mean that watching every episode of "Mister Science" qualifies one for a scientific post?

Earl Stanley Gardner was an attorney.  And a damn good one as I understand.  He just decided to go straight and give up on lawyering.

I saw WEIRD SCIENCE a couple of times when it was originally released.

(One can only spend so much time in a strip club on Victory Drive when you're stationed at Fort Benning.)
