What I would like to know is how did the Republican party get stuck with being racist when it what the Democrates who tried to prevent the passage of the civil rights act of the 60'xs.  Senator (KKK) Byrd filibustered the Voting Rights act, Governor Wallace was a Democrat,  and other southern Demcrats where fighting tooth and nail to precent any civil right laws to be passed.  This has all been forgotten.
